Protecting Our Community (POC)

Naloxone (Narcan) education and distribution is available. No-cost HIV and Hepatitis C testing is available for PWID (people who inject drugs) or anyone who has ever injected drugs. Harm reduction services including access to sterile syringes, safe disposal of syringes, other injection supplies, education, and referrals are available.

Well Woman Program

Free mammograms, pap smears, and breast exams are provided for women who meet the program guidelines of age, residency, and are uninsured. Tuberculosis Program (TB)

Traditional TB skin testing and Quantiferon Gold TB blood testing are available by appointment. For positive TB reactors initial chest X-rays, laboratory tests, and medical evaluations are provided. Medications and follow up testing may be provided as medically indicated.  To schedule a TB test please call 815-284-3371 Ext: 2127.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD’s)

Education, testing, treatment, referral, and partner notification are provided for specific STD’s as outlined by the Center for Disease Control. Testing is available by appointment. Call 815-284-3371 Ext: 2107 to schedule an appointment and for fee information.

Infectious Disease

Investigations, patient education, and limited follow-up tests are provided. Information is also provided on international travel. Residents inquiring about travel-related immunizations are referred to the Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) to receive their shots. You may call WCHD at 815-720-4264.

Illinois Tobacco Free Communities

Activities include enforcement of the Smoke-Free Illinois Act, promotion of the Illinois Tobacco Quitline, including provision of a limited amount of Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

HIV/AIDS Program

Education, confidential HIV testing, partner notification and referral, general education, and risk reduction presentations are provided. Call 815-284-3371 Ext: 2107 for more information.

Health and Wellness Program

Free blood pressure screenings are held in different locations throughout Lee County. Community cancer/health programs are also provided in collaboration with other service providers. Glucose and Cholesterol screenings are offered periodically at Lee County Health Department for a small fee. Call 1-815-284-3371 Ext: 2107 to schedule an appointment.

Family Planning

Our Physician Assistant, Courtney Teller provides on-site clinics to provide women with annual reproductive examinations. Reproductive and contraceptive education and choice of contraceptive methods are available. Follow-up laboratory reports and type of contraception are provided according to individual need.
